Impact Broadband is a woman-owned small business founded by Melissa Ashurst. Melissa spent over a decade in the telecommunications industry focused on large-scale cellular network deployments for a global commercial carrier. Her passion for the industry comes from a deep respect for the ways connectivity impacts people and businesses.
Since the inception of Impact Broadband, Melissa has served as a Smart City Consultant, which led to the award of a $24M Citywide fiber build with AT&T, Citywide Wi-Fi deployment, and several IoT and EV/Energy initiatives. During her involvement with the City of Amarillo, she gained a better understanding of the needs of the surrounding rural communities, resulting in the creation of "Panhandle Connected." She now serves on the Advisory Board to assist with Digital Divide/Equity Solutions in the 26 counties surrounding Amarillo.
